GRADUATED FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA SPRING 2009
Travis Busch was born December 4, 1986 in St Paul, Minnesota. He is a University of Minnesota Gopher basketball guard and forward. He played High School basketball for Mounds View High School in Mounds View, Minnesota. Busch was named Minnesota’s Mr. Basketball in 2005 and Gatorade Player of the Year. He set the Mounds View all-time scoring record with 1,771 points and averaged more than 25 points per game as a senior, improving from a 19.8 points per game as a junior. Travis Busch helped his team place third in the state as a senior and lettered three times in basketball and three times in track.
Travis Busch originally committed to and attended Cal Poly. As a freshman with Cal Poly, he played in four games before injuring his foot and missing the rest of the season. He then transferred to the University of Minnesota to play with the Golden Gophers.
Travis Busch had to sit out in 2006-2007 due to NCAA transfer rules, but came back strong in 2007-2008. He made a memorable pass almost the length of the court during the final moments of a NCAA quarterfinal game which put the Minnesota Gophers in the lead. A thigh bruise prevented Busch from seeing lots of playing time, however.
Travis Busch is looking to staying healthy and using his speed and agility to make a difference on the Gopher mens basketball team. He is described as a gritty competitor with solid range on his jump shot.
