After high school graduation, Paul Carter redshirted his 2006-2007 season with the Missouri State-West Plains basketball team. He played in 2007-2008 and racked up an average of 11.7 points, a team-high 8.7 rebounds and 24.3 minutes per game playing time. The community college team finished second in division play.
