Lawrence Westbrook
Lawrence Westbrook was born on January 17, 1988 in Chandler, Arizona. He joined the Minnesota Gophers men’s basketball team in 2006-07 for his freshman season. Lawrence Westbrook played in 21 games in 2006-07 and started twice. He played a career-high 35 minutes versus Indiana on February 21, scoring eight points. Westbrook scored a career-high 11 points versus Ohio State on February 18 and Montana on November 26. Westbrook saw his first action as a Gopher when he scored two points in six minutes versus North Dakota State on November 13. In 2007-2008, Westbrook saw lots of playing time from the start with a starting role and 22 minutes of playing time in the team's opener. The season also put Lawrence Westbrook at 17 times scoring in double digits. A season high was his 12 points and 10 assists against Northwestern in February 2008. Lawrence Westbrook is a graduate of Winchendon Prep in Massachusetts. He averaged 18 points per game at Winchendon as a senior. He led the nation in scoring with 41 points per game as a junior at Chandler High School. He scored 40 or more points 14 times and had four 50-point games including a 57 point outing. He was high school’s athlete of the year in his sophomore and junior seasons. Lawrence Westbrook is a history major at the University of Minnesota.
