Eric Stark was born on January 22, 1992 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

Eric Stark attended Grand Rapids High School, where he was a three-year starter. He helped lead the Thunderhawks to three straight Minnesota Class AAA State Tournaments, including a second place finish as a senior. Eric Stark was named to the All-State Tournament Team as a senior and was namned Honorable Mention All-State. Eric Stark finished his career as the 3rd leading scorer in Grand Rapids history with 1,300 points. As a senior he averaged 17.6 points.
