Canadian Devoe Joseph hails from Ajax, Ontario. He graduated from Pickering High School and was a strong member of the basketball team. During his senior year, Devoe Joseph averaged 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists per game. These high averages propelled the Pickering basketball team to a 70-2 season record and championship. He was also elected twice as school's Mr. Basketball.

Devoe Joseph was also a member of the Canadian World Junior National Team and was invited to the country's men's basketball training camp, making it until the final round of cuts.

As a freshman, Devoe Joseph averaged 5 points and 1.8 rebounds while playing in 33 games with 2 starts. As a sophomore, Devoe Joseph averaged 9.4 points and 3 rebounds per game.
